Housed in the 16th-century Palazzo Sforza, the Museum of Rural Civilization in Proceno holds one of the largest collections in the area dedicated to rural culture.
A museum in the heart of the village
Founded in the 1980s as a project by the Guido Ascanio Sforza cultural association and enriched over the years by the Municipality, the museum houses approximately 2,000 objects that illustrate the uses, tools, and environments of pre-industrial life between the 16th and 20th centuries.
The exhibition unfolds across four large rooms, displaying work tools, household utensils, artisanal artifacts , and long-forgotten instruments. Each piece contributes to the authenticity of a community tied to the land, the rhythm of the seasons, and traditional crafts. A place that conveys memory and identity, giving voice to simple and fundamental stories.
