The theatrical performance “Characters on the Road” by Cesarini offers a narrative journey filled with emotion and irony, inspired by the Francigena pilgrimage, followed by a tasting of local products.
On Sunday, June 15 at 5:30 PM, the new Porsenna Auditorium will be inaugurated. It is located in the former Council Hall of the Municipality of Proceno and has been set up in collaboration with the Accademia dei Bardi aps-ets. At 6:00 PM, the show “Characters on the Road: from Sigeric to Petrolini” will take place, created, directed and performed by Cesare Cesarini. In about 90 minutes of theatre, music, and songs, the audience will hear stories and travel anecdotes of characters who, from the 10th to the 20th century, journeyed along the Via Francigena and passed through the area of Proceno. The show features figures like Archbishop Sigeric, Francesco Petrarch, Giacomo Casanova (who, already older, had a romantic adventure here with a young English girl named Beti), Ettore Petrolini, Wanda Osiris, Anna Magnani, and many more. Cesare Cesarini will be joined on stage by a talented group of actors, singers, and musicians: Anita Pusceddu, actress and choreographer, who worked for years with the Rancia Company Clelia Liguori, actress and singer with international experience Laura Antonini, a versatile and captivating actress Remo Stella, trained at the Silvio D’Amico Academy, who has worked with major Italian theatre directors Musicians include: Olena Kurkina, musical director of the show and mandolinist Giuliano Latini, playing both baroque and classical guitar Mauro Arduini, as always, extraordinary on the double bass After the show, a buffet will be offered on the panoramic terrace of Palazzo G.
