Housed inside the 16th-century Palazzo Sforza, the Museum of Rural Life in Proceno safeguards one of the largest collections in the area dedicated to rural culture.
A museum in the heart of the village
Created in the 1980s from a project by the cultural association “Guido Ascanio Sforza” and later enriched by the municipality,
the museum contains around 2,000 objects illustrating customs, tools, and environments of pre-industrial rural life from the 16th to the 20th century.
The exhibition is divided into four main rooms where farm tools, domestic utensils, traditional crafts, and long-forgotten instruments are preserved.
Each piece helps reconstruct the authentic face of a community closely tied to the land, the rhythm of the seasons, and traditional trades.
A place that transmits memory and identity, giving voice to the simplicity and strength of rural life.
